Birds Found in Prospect

A Guide to Birds Found in Prospect’s Natural Areas

Total Species 112; Compilers: Paul and Carol McAllister

Bird Populations

Prospect's bird populations migrate seasonally during the winter months. From owls to chickadees to bald eagles, this webpage will help you track which avian residents are here at what times of year, whether you seek them out in one of our city's parks and natural areas or in your own back yard!

Compilers

The Compilers:In pursuing their love of birds and ornithology, Prospect residents Paul and Carol McAllister established a bird-watching log dating from 2008 through 2012. Until their move from the City, they led numerous bird watching treks at all seasons of the year, often working in concert with the Beckham Bird Club of Louisville.

The Beckham Bird Club was organized in 1935 and named for Charles Wickcliffe Beckham, the first native Kentuckian to achieve a national reputation as an ornithologist. Information on their organization and its activities can be found at www.beckliambirdclub.org.
