On July 01, 2019 Harrods Creek Fire Department merged with Anchorage Middletown Fire Department, Worthington and Eastwood Fire Departments to become Anchorage Middletown Fire and EMS.

Anchorage Middletown Fire and EMS Department is a special taxing district as provided for by Kentucky Revised Statue (KRS) Chapter 75.

Our Paramedics, EMTs, and Firefighters operate from 11 fire stations to provide fire protection, fire prevention, advanced life support EMS response/transport, and rescue services to over 90 square miles of eastern Louisville Metro; including portions of I-71, I-265, I-64, and the Ohio River.

Fire protection is not a function of City Government. Anchorage Middletown Fire and EMS, a very modern and fully-equipped fire-fighting force, provides services for Prospect residents. The fire house is STATION #10 located at 8905 U.S. Highway 42, Prospect, KY 40059.

Chief Andy Longstreet is in charge of the Fire Department. He can be reached at (502) 245-7555
