Message from the Mayor

Vietnam War Veterans Day
Vietnam War Veterans Day
THANK YOU TO OUR VIETNAM WAR VETERANS

Dear Prospect Neighbors,

Today, March 29, is Vietnam War Veterans Day.  I send this message to express the deep appreciation that Prospect has for Vietnam War veterans and, indeed, for all veterans. In 1945, President Truman stated, “Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude.”

In addition to thanking veterans who live or work in Prospect, I extend thanks to three of our police officers who are Army veterans – Officer Michael McKeehan, Officer David Gray, and Officer Steve Hardy. I also recognize and thank three veterans who serve on our City Council – Navy veterans Don Graeter and John Evans and Army veteran David Holmes.

We are fortunate that when our country calls for citizens to step forward to defend freedom, there are those among us who answer that call.  The members of the United States armed forces were there when it mattered – committed and courageous.  All of us in Prospect extend our heartfelt thanks to those who have served.

Sincerely,
Mayor Doug Farnsley
