Prospect Forestation Board Virtual Meeting Minutes

January 24, 2022, 2:00 pm via Webex

Present: Herb John, Lee, Ron, Don Gibson, Sylvia, Doug Farnsley, Sarah O'Dell, Luca Wallace, Mary Lowery, Connie and John Evans.

Lee called the meeting to order and we first discussed the dead elm tree which backs up to home number 6506 Innisbrook Road. Andrea and Lee have determined that the tree is a hazard and likely to fall on the home. DeVille Homes owns lot #30 on which the tree grows. Connie made a motion to take the tree down and Herb John seconded it. The motion passed.

The last order of business is the double-trunked oak tree along Sutherland Farm Road. Luca Wallace thinks the tree might be on Prospect City Land. He also thinks the tree could be designated a historic tree. In addition, he thinks cutting one trunk off would kill the tree. Mayor Evans will have a city surveyor determine the tree's ownership. If the tree is on Wallace Farm property then a vote has already been taken by the Forestation Board to notify the farm to take the hazardous part of the tree down.
