Bird Watching Tour
Address
The Prospect Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee is pleased to announce its first Bird Walk "Birding" on Saturday, March 16th at 1:00 pm. Please arrive early enough so we can depart promptly at 1:00 pm.
Our Bird-Watching guide will be Jacob Crider, Educator and Naturalist for the Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve. Jacob also serves on the Board of Directors at the Louisville Audubon Society.
We will meet at the John Evans Pavilion in Little Hunting Creek Park next to City Hall. The walk will begin at the Pavilion through Little Hunting Creek Park and over to Putney Pond. If you cannot walk over with us, you can meet us at Putney Pond to join the group.
Hiking Conditions: Most of the walk is flat, there is one descent down a hill and a climb up a hill before arriving near Putney Pond. The round trip is about one mile. The trails are usually muddy so wear shoes or boots that have good traction and that you don't mind getting muddy.
Recommendation: Everyone should bring binoculars and wear appropriate shoes or boots. A walking stick can be handy as well.
Rain will cancel the event.
